Excerpt: This is probably my last year filming at BETT 2019. In order to get good interviews on the fly I will be using a phone, an Osmo Pocket, a MikMe studio quality microphone and a mini-tripod to capture interviews. This setup is also extremely useful to put together for a small film unit in schools. Have a look at the quality of the video below and see what is manageable with very small and portable kit these days. Basically broadcast quality video and audio. I have spent years trying to miniaturise film kit and this is probably the smallest kit I’ve ever…

Excerpt: Well – I lasted six months and I’m back. The latter half of this year has been devoted to getting fit, rebuilding stamina, reading and reassessing how I go forward into my 60’s. Excerpt: I have just bought a SmallHD Focus 5″ Monitor for use with my smaller cameras – especially the point and shoot ones. I wish something like this had come out onto the market earlier. It is so bright and easy to use in bright daylight (something I was struggling with on the A5100 screen) that I’m now pretty confident I’ll use this as an on the go interview camera / monitor setup in future at small education events. It is not cheap but I love my little Sony A5100 because, as a camera, with certain lenses it still gives one of the best…
